Project Volunteerism
Guangyang Secondary's partnership with parent volunteers
and the Bishan East Citizens' Consultative Committee
aims to instil in students the spirit of volunteerism
through regular and frequent interaction with senior
citizens.
The elderly enjoy the 11/2 hour weekly programme
at the school canteen. They are served breakfast
and students reach out to and mingle with them.
Following that, they are taught simple exercises.
On some occasions, they enjoy outings to the Pasir
Panjang wholesale market with the students. They
picnic at the Botanic Gardens and are treated to
a Chinese New Year Lunch.
