Project COPE

The students at Tanjong Katong Secondary School are barely 14 years old, but they accomplish chores of grown-ups. They are involved in Project COPE (Community Outreach Programme to the Elderly), initiated by the Marine Parade Community Development Council to draw on the resources of the community. The students see to the needs of the elderly, bringing some cheer into their lives. They clean the houses of the elderly and distribute gifts to them. In the process, they learn about compassion and caring for the less fortunate.

The St Andrews' Network
At St Andrew's Junior College, the support given by the Board of Governors is very real. Members of the Board do not come in at college functions merely to participate in the formalities. Instead they actively work on schemes that for them, will keep 'One Family Unbroken', a phrase from the college hymn, alive. Thus, Board members share their rich experiences in learning and living through their participation in school activities, sponsorship of events and financial contribution. They play an active role in shaping the vision and mission of the college.
