Safety First
The parents at Townsville Primary adopt a hands-on approach to ensure the safety of their children. They volunteer as traffic wardens, and collaborate with the school, the Land Transport Authority, the Ang Mo Kio Community Development Council and the police to maintain a Safe Drive Zone along Ang Mo Kio Street 32.

Loyal Soldiers

It is often said that fathers are too busy for their children. But at Broadrick Secondary School, half of the Parent Support Group Committee members are fathers.

Uniquely, the Chairman and all but one of the sub-committee heads are men. They hold full-time jobs, but gladly sacrifice their time and energy. The Principal is impressed by the initiative of the members. Their strength comes from their various fields of expertise. 'We are like different parts of the body. We all perform different but important functions, none of which is expendable,' a member commented. Another said, 'We share a kinship and are comfortable working together. Our work can never be finished.' 'We are open and honest during meetings. We enjoy them and do not find them a chore,' a mother commented. Parents - fathers and mothers alike - are certainly making an impact on the Broadrician students' education.
