Learning Village
Outram Secondary is the first school in Asia to
pilot the 'Learning Village' (LV) - a web-based
communications tool that electronically connects
the school with parents and the community. Teachers
worked with personnel from IBM to customise the
product for local use and the school launched LV
in 1999.
Work Awareness
The youngsters at Huamin Primary were given the
opportunity to engage in dialogue sessions with
professionals from various fields. Information gathered
was either exchanged verbally or in the form of
write-ups. Through these interactions, students
had a better understanding of job ethics and this
helped to instil in them the need to nurture good
habits and attitudes from young.
